Steve Selig graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in business administration before joining the family real estate business in 1968. From 1976 to 1980, he served as President Carter’s Chief Liaison with the business community. Upon his return to Atlanta, Selig purchased AAA Parking and transformed it into one of the largest parking lot operators in the Southeast. Steve Selig became President and Chairman of the Board of Selig Enterprises, Inc. in 1986. His family endowed the Selig Center of Economic Growth in 1990 at the University of Georgia, and Selig served on the Board of Commissioners of the Atlanta Housing Authority, and he was a Board Member of the Atlanta Council for International Visitors.

In 1994, Selig donated land and building for the Jewish Federation and William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum. A pillar in the real estate community, the Council for Quality Growth awarded Selig their Four Pillar Award in 2014, and the Atlanta Business Chronicle awarded the 12th & Midtown project with multiple Best in Atlanta Real Estate Awards. In 1995, Ernst & Young named Selig Entrepreneur of the Year. In addition to real estate, Selig has a passion for education in the State of Georgia. He currently serves on the Board of Westminster Schools, Alliance Theatre, and Woodruff Arts Center.

He previously served on the boards of The University of Georgia Foundation, the Georgia State University Council, Spelman College, the Lovett Schools, and the Atlanta Ballet. In 1996, he was presented with the Salute to Excellence Award for his involvement at Morehouse College. Throughout his illustrious philanthropic career, he has served dozens of organizations, in including the Shepherd Center, the Board of Camp Sunshine, and the Leukemia Society Board, Camp Twin Lakes, and National Kidney Foundation, and from1995 to 1998,was President of the Atlanta Jewish Federation.

Additionally, Selig was National Campaign Chair for The Jewish Federation of North America from 2002-2004 and is a past president of The Temple and the Atlanta Chapter of the American Jewish Committee. In 2011, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta awarded Steve Lifetime Achievement Award, and he received the 1992 Distinguished Service Award from the American Jewish Committee.
